Anyone who knows anything about leadership understands that the quickest road to defeat is not allowing your best and smartest to advise you without fear of reprisals. Real leaders like Lincoln, Washington, and Eisenhower can handle not only adversity, but also criticism.
To be fair, this could all be performative, and these people actually give him advice behind the cameras. That is what I've heard from some of his supporters, for what its worth. One can only hope that is true. But his actions suggest that he doesn't have much tolerance for hearing something bad.

Except its just not the cabinet. You have world leaders showering him with irrational praise. Then just some of them praise him in a way that is manipulative, like Putin.
