I don't believe so but apparently the far left does. Our interests align but asking Black people to ignore the attacks on our community, to prioritize the needs of another, is too big of an ask.

thats literally what you're asking trans people. Fucking hell the audacity here.
No. I'm not. The trans community should ALWAYS do what's best for them, regardless of my opinion.
I think I understand a little how that must feel. But I also wonder if someone who platforms white nationalists is also, ultimately, going to have the best interests of the Black community in mind, when push comes to shove?
It's not about who is going to have our best interest. We aren't talking about some mild inconvenience. It's about who isn't going to kill us, cage us or enslave us!!!
That's a valid concern, but, again, is a person who is platforming people who would be okay with that point to the safest bet? It just feels like 3 years away from the moment of truth, we don't have to line up behind someone who openly sits with people who are okay with hurting the disenfranchised.
I understand that. Anything can happen in three years. Personally I think in three years it will be too late. As for right now. The enemy of my enemy, is my friend.
I think it's interesting that that saying is so often truncated, "the enemy of my enemy is my friend, until he becomes my enemy again" I hope so much that we can find and empower people who want to change the entire system. Having our rights handed out randomly in bits and pieces is no way to live.
I agree. I think that's a lovely thought as a long-term goal but we are so far away from that. Do you disagree?
I do not disagree. But I also think it makes it more difficult to achieve when we are willing to overlook the danger that others face if it secures our own safety, even for a bit. None of us are free until all of us are free.
To me it's like finding a life partner. You pretend to accept their flaws then slowly bend them to your will.
Lol! I am just so bad at that. I just think that if we can all see how interconnected we all are, that we don't have to accept people whose flaws are so clearly based on sacrificing the marginalized to secure the status quo, we could change the world so much quicker. Anyway, back to work.
I like how you think. Have a great day!
