You've never met a Baptist, have you?
You've never met a Baptist, have you?
I’m not sure this crazy bitch is a Baptist. I’m going to guess she practices her own religion - one she created to support her own twisted beliefs
No, I am not Baptist. I am Lutheran. That so many people do not even know the basic gospel message is an indication of the corruption in churches that seek to control and oppress rather than preach the grace and freedom God offers.
In Matthew: “21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter.”
I’d also be interested to know which part you think I made up. I’m glad to share my sources.
Of course
Yes, I have. They are work righteous. Relying on works to save us is a dangerous spiritual position. Ephesians explains, “8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by works, so that no one can boast.”
Baptists, or at least certain Billy Graham types, are the opposite believing that accepting JC as your lord and saviour etc. etc. absolves you from all sin past, present and future. No works necessary, Sola Fide and all that. It's the "future" part of the belief in absolution that is the problem.
James writes that “faith without works is dead”; he is describing reality that when good works are not evident, saving faith is lacking. Sola fide refers to the idea that works themselves are not the basis of salvation. Understanding the gift, we should seek to honor it with our lives.
