For every project including small scale and large, adaptive reuse. 2b) End the wasteful performative consultation model that burns social capital, time and money that can be better spent delivering more projects better and faster 3) scale up investment across the city 4) … 2/

4) link socislly transformative outcomes to policy decisions 5) connect dots between unhoused, precarious housing, transit, food desserts, schooling opportunities and access to third spaces 6) advocate for UBI and lead by example with micro projects.

Unconditional living basic income, not universal but only to those below the poverty line, (like ODSPwhich is unjust).

Then it becomes an incentive not to work as welfare programs are. Because you get punished for doing more than nothing even though it might not even get you much. UBI. And extended income programs.

If it is only available to those below the poverty line, then you punish those who are above it for actually struggling to do something to lift themselves out of poverty. You're building a wall. Just make it available to everyone.

Has it occurred to you that it is not possible to lift yourself out of poverty without tools - mailing address, phone #, references, wardrobe, laundry & shower facilities, transportation to apply for work. Real poverty and homelessness even if working at a part-time job (most retail) can live in car

You speak as if I don't support building UBI.

If the “U” means unconditional, NOT “universal” then I am on-side.

The bureaucracy to determine who gets taxed back would be too costly. But CRA knows from tax returns who is below cost of living for their particular area. Right now the added $200 a month to those on disability is not that but a complicated judgement assessment. Demeaning. Not everyone gets $200.

Not “everybody” above the poverty line. Only those with the highest disposable income, who could afford to pay more taxes and still put some money into their own retirement needs.
