That's what I did as a middle schooler before lifting enough in high school to do multiple reps. I was 100 lbs in 3rd grade.
My strongest gym opinion, even knowing the not-actually-terrible CrossFit reasoning behind using them, is that kipping pull-ups are bad, stupid, risky, and completely not useful

Yeah that's how they end up getting used, to pump up numbers for workouts with rep targets, which is a horrible way to utilize them
For highly experienced athletes who can also do bar muscle-ups, the kipping pull-up is a decent test of that measure of strength. IMO, it doesn't actually build that strength in any meaningful way, so even that tiny segment of people probably shouldn't practice them often

The kipping pullups and the idea that rhabdomyolysis was funny ("Uncle Rhabdo") pretty much dispelled any impression that "Couch" (Glassman) knew what he was talking about or gave 2 shits about the safety of his trainees.
Kipping pull-ups make sense if this is all for performative masculinity and really fits in with the whole Hegseth-RFK Jr vibe.
kipping pullups are awful and only useful in demonstrating to people who observe someone who does them that the person doing kipping pullups is not to be trusted or listened to.
Yeah if you're a literal CrossFit Games athlete do them for your sport, I guess, but nobody else should
If the goal is "do kipping pullups" then sure, I guess, do kipping pullups. But if the goal is "exercise safely and effectively," or "don't look like a complete asshat for no reason other than to impress idiots" then do not, under any circumstances, do kipping pullups.
