I prefer Debian, almost identical, but less of a "upgrade to a new version every couple of months" vibe. YMMV. Either is better than Microsoft. And more secure.

Definitely same here. I figured most don’t even know Ubuntu and it’s the most user friendly when it comes to switching!
Very true. I haven't seen the Ubuntu installer for many a year, but it was always the "hand-holding, no obligation" option. 🙂
LTS is your friend. Every 2 years seems ok.
