Mine's a degradation of the L4/L5/S1/S2 vertebrae "the classic Aussie bad back" caused by lifting things too heavy things the wrong way. I knew better, my Dad had the same issue, but "just this once" and "I'm in a hurry", I can't afford two trips", and here I am. I deserve my bad back, I earned it.😡

Btw, how many "just this once" were there? 1 per week? 52 per year? Naughty!

(quickly claims American citizenship [despite the current American government] so I can claim the 5th Amendment against self-incrimination).😂 I was RMIT union tech, and helped bands who were performing in story hall, which meant lifting roadcases up a flight of stairs. And yes, too many times.

Never graduated Robyn (but well done you!), heard that the union tech job was available and looking for candidates and applied because it seemed like an interesting job. Got it, and let the course slide because I was doing it to get a job, and I'd found one so why bother? It was a simpler time.

I know that Robyn, but comparative to the present, (in retrospect which is always rose coloured) my times were simpler and better times. Your times (if you wish to make that distinction, which I never would) would therefore be even better and more understandable times than mine.

The present is pretty damn rough, btw. I agree.

I was a mature-age student, Dave. So probably actually studying later. P/t while working f/t (and raising 2 kids). Not really simple, I'm afraid. Graduated in 1992, so I was nearly 40 (I just realised that!).

Congratulations Robyn. And yes, not so simple, unless viewed by the nostalgia of others that didn't have to deal with that. Alas I would have left RMIT's buildings long before you graced their corridors, so the trope where we both had a brief interaction but never met again till here is not valid.

Awwww, darn! I was rather hoping we'd remember doing a systems analysis project together at some point!

Virtually the same. L3 to S1. But think mine result of car accident 44 years ago. Just for the record, I was psrked! Two cars had a collision at an intersection behind me. One car crashed into my driver's door. My head ended up under the glove box on passenger side. TAC said "soft tissue injury

only, you'll be fine". Thank goidness hit front door, not rear door. Baby daughter was in car seat on that side. Corked thigh from gear stick wasn't great either.
