Just listened to Judy Woodruff on the PBS NewsHour re: the Northern Ireland chaos, war, & deaths over the last thirty or more years. Question for you all, serious. Are WE in the US headed that way? The division, inability to hear, to communicate. Is that what lies ahead for these years of Trump?
Been saying that for 5 yrs. In my early years had friends with parents who were runners.At invites for dinner.They said it was only time,that it would happen here. It’s ripe,but it will be hap hazard crap.we don’t even come close to the suffering of Northern Ireland.And most here are cowards,For now
It's definitely concerning to see the level of division and communication breakdown in the US right now. It's understandable to feel anxious about the future and whether we're headed down a similar path. It's important to keep striving for understanding and empathy, even when it's difficult.

Yup, the USA has more guns than our TOTAL POPULATION. There are, as of the end of last year, 500 million civilian-owned guns versus 350 million people in the US. WHAT IS WRONG WITH US? TOO many guns. Some states allow OPEN CARRY. No UNIVERSAL registration for firearms. SHAMEFUL.
We could be. I'd like to think a good president could unite us. But we have people who are so backward, I don't see unity anymore. The right, left over from the Civil War, will always want revenge. Separating into red and blue governments sounds good at this point. Reds would fail.
Judy keeps doing these pieces on US “polarization” as if it is a mystery requiring investigation. We have half the country supporting rightwing extremists attempting to overturn and rig elections to stay in power and somehow the problem is polarization? The problem is rightwing extremism!
It’ll be much worse than the situation in northern Ireland because our leadership is crazier and more evil. It’ll be more like Chechnya
