I will not vote for him in a primary. If he's the candidate against a MAGA Republican in a general election I will obviously vote for him, as that would be moving left from the alternative.

I will not vote for him in a D primary (I prefer Pritzker and basically all other contenders). If he nevertheless wins the D primary I will vote for him against a MAGA Republican in the general bc he's better than MAGA Republicans on trans issues (an extremely low bar) and almost every other issue.

If there is a meaningful presidential election in 2028, I do not think Gavin Newsom will be able to motivate anyone. I see how well his exact playbook is doing for labour in the UK and fam it ain’t good. I want dems to win. We have years to find someone better.
