Dear stupid people. If freedom of speech means you can say what you like with impunity, then journalists wouldn't spend so long learning about broadcast, slander and libel laws because they wouldn't exist.

Suggesting a former Director of Public Prosecutions should know something about the law is quite the take. Even for The Telegraph. Anyone would think he conviction had nothing to do with him.
