My 90 year old cranky conservative Dad on the East coast and my Neother in Thunder Bay both drive Subarus.

Honestly it's been a bit since I lived in BC so I don't know how much it's changed. I just happened to notice recently in the US pick-ups were the top selling vehicles in like 50 states, with one exception being the Forrester in Washington. When I was out west it was Bu's everywhere.

Yeah they may be more common there. I guess my point was more that cars are less identitarian in Canada. It’s more about utility. My Dad and Brother are both outdoorsy and Subarus are good vehicles and cheap to operate.

Oh agreed. When you need 4wd and don't want a pick-up it's a very handy vehicle. Not sure about maintenance claims, my experience is with the WRX and removing the airbox to change the oil was not exactly cost effective if you drive a lot.

As an Atlantic Canadian, every third car is a Subaru.
