Surely the competitors would be those other than SBB?

As an aside, the SBB app is getting worse and worse. It now seems to miss out lots of ship alternatives to the timetable, in favour of (SBB-run) trains. Never used to do that.

How would it handle a journey from Brig to Visp which could be made by SBB or MGB (and probably now BLS)?

That’s why I prefer FAIRTIQ- they are just a software company, works fine with every bus/train/ship connection I’ve ever had - it’s just a dynamic QR code - go where you like, it follows you. Halbtax works fine too.

I regret the merger of the BVZ and the Furka Oberalp. MGB have secured new investment, but the FO had a very quirky brand image. I don't like the new shade of red.

Also the new route out of Brig on the FO side robs me of local knowledge re the trains' reversal.

Ah - not ideal. I don't know that section of the network so well. Although I did enjoy my trip to Visperterminen in search of Heida, which was delicious!

No - FAIRTIQ was first to market. SBB copied. I still use FAIRTIQ only out of loyalty to a SME innovator.

Did SBB/CFF/FSS copy the app or buy it?

It seems they are still a startup. Getting funding. Maybe they licenced it to SBB?

I don’t know. It seems an almost exact copy and was released about a year after FAIRTIQ arrived on the scene.
