Yordan Alvarez hit soft toss today at “60-65 percent” effort, he said through an interpreter. Alvarez plans to hit again tomorrow. Of his setback in Florida, Alvarez said he woke up on the day he was supposed to face pitching and his hand was so swollen he could not grip a bat.

I wonder if it’s his hamate. In which case, he should have had surgery months ago.
the thing is, you can usually tell a hamate because a player feels the pain during their back swing they claim Yordan is fine when he swings, but then he wakes up the next morning with a swollen hand
I think we have no idea at this point.
I mean, apparently he can’t even *think* about batting later the same day without his hand blowing up. It’s been months now. I can’t imagine he’ll be back in the lineup without some sort of surgery. Which means we won’t see him till 2026.
I think we will, but we won’t know until he happens, or it doesn’t.
Thank goodness they gave him a shot and the issue was magically resolved! Or ... hmmm ... sigh
