I am a lawyer - and also frequently the first to unapologetically and loudly criticize other lawyers and the profession. We are the WORST. A student in my law school section SAed a fellow student - got to stay in school, currently a BigLaw partner. The victim dropped out within months.
But like you said, there are more women that get brushed off, and nothing gets done to the guilty person. This happens either because the victim gets paid off or because of fear. That is sad. The scales of justice need to be more fairly balanced and people's rights protected.
That is truly sad. Something needs to be done to people who sexually assault , rape and abuse people, especially when it's true. I say, especially when it's true, because I've known and overheard women that did it for financial gain or leverage.
