There's no doubt States will have to protect their own polling sites from the feds. If they don't, Trump will claim he's doing it for them with a lot of overt gun brandishing Posse boys looking to abduct likely Democrats into handy buses. Watch them try it -- and fail.

But only citizens can vote, so what's the REAL reason?

Of course not - that's no small part of why I'm suspicious of ulterior motives. The number of non-citizens walking up to polling stations has got to be tiny, even without goons in plate carriers carrying rifles standing outside. Ah, it's to intimidate BIPOC who ARE citizens, so they'll stay away...
