Petroleum, as we know it in the US, was first extracted in 1859 in NW Pa.; my great great grandfather transitioned from farmer to oil producer in the 1860s. 4 generations ran the "raggedy ass oil company", sold off in the 1980s. Trust me. It's all used up.
