no no he's perfect he was an ass in the 90s as well!
Yeah, pretty much the whole arc of the Gabriel Knight games is that Gabe is problematic and everyone other than him (and maybe his Grandma) does in fact consider that a Problem and wants him to fix it.
Does Gabe have any self improvement in #3? Somehow I managed to skip that one what with the moustache puzzle 😬
The irony about that complaint is that the infamous puzzle is just one not-particularly-long puzzle, while GK3 *also* has a much longer puzzle that often gets praised as one of the best in the genre.
100% this! GK3 gets so, so much more right than it gets wrong, and innovated every step of the way i really hope it’s adequately recognised one day
GK3 might honestly be my favourite, though they're all masterpieces. as for self-improvement... mmm, I'd say he grows a little, but not enough, and this is articulated by the plot in ways I can't share because spoilers >.>
Yeah, GK3 ends with Gabe finally realizing that yeah, he really screwed up not doing enough to change. GK4 would have been a trip.
There's nobody I'd rather have playing an ass than Tim Curry!
he's P E R F E C T
shotten jaegah
I can excuse him getting it wrong Gabriel Knight 2, however, where you have supposedly native German characters positively butchering the German language...
Oh let me clarify - I absolutely love Tim Curry Gabriel, haha
