I assume they're pretending it's code. "The long sobs of autumn's violins" when sent over the BBC was to notify the Resistance that D-Day was coming. Any phrase can sound portentous without context.

Possibly! I confess, one of the least meaningful things AltNPS does (did?) was the "number station" posts, but boy they tick me off for some reason.
