The issue is that de minimus is for the *importer* (the person receiving the package) not the exporter. Temu are mostly a warehouse overstock clearinghouse, selling off the dregs of industrial mass-manufacture for pennies on the dollar rather than destroy/waste them. 🤔

Do they work with a US importer to handle the cross border movement of goods, or do they have a US presence that makes them effectively both sides of the transaction?

I know when we've done freight forwarding (again totally different industry with much more scrutiny from customs) we've had to provide so much documentation for the end client that freight forwarding doesn't hide anything. Equally that's a different process to de minimis.
