Can any of you recommend a biography on Marlene Dietrich? I knew she was an antifascist badass but I didn’t realize HOW badass she was

Maximillian Schell directed a documentary about her that is likely online, and her daughter wrote a wonderful biography. I’m sorry that I can’t recall the title of either, but her name is included in both. Yes, she was a badass with moral clarity and courage.

Steven Bach's is good. The dual "Dietrich and Riefenstahl" biography is a good read, and probably has the most detail about Dietrich's antifascism, presented in counterpoint to Leni. I reviewed it at the time: www.theguardian.com/books/2015/o...
