It’s not clear where the president is getting his information, considering poll after poll has found that the president is underwater on key issues and failing to win over the voters he will need to maintain control of Congress during the midterms.

Don't say "maintain control of Congress." Say "prevent the completely obvious and justified impeachment that is only being held back by brazen toadies." The President is NEVER supposed to CONTROL Congress, they are coequal branches of government. We are witnessing a gross dereliction of duty.
