I know that, but isn't that beside the point?
It's the consequences that are important to me. You can't learn from the past if you're brought up in a vacuum... by design. It takes ages to mend that. Eg. Spaniards migrated as recently as the 60s. And their grandchildren can today be learning to shout "go home migrants". That vacuum worries me.
I understand your point of view and sympathise completely. My only problem is that it is out of context with the post and thread I was responding to. Learning from the past is why we have educational institutions, we have to hope that they are enabled and willing to pass that information on.
