I'm willing to entertain "weed smoke was just an unpleasant smell I hadn't been desensitized to" as an argument but you'll have to make it.

after so many years I think, ultimately, it's never really that good after the first time you smelled it and thought it was cool and deviant, and when you have to smell it in everything on a regular basis it gets as tiring as cigarette smoke

no sort of smoke smells good, "that pleasant campfire aroma" was written by poets who had people to wash that shit out of their hair and their clothes.
