I can't help but think the tipping point in our political climate was America electing a black president. The white nationalist and everyday casual racists just lost their damn minds and decided that burning it all down was the natural course because they felt so traumatized. Jfc omg wtf.
I think the tipping point was Citizen's United. That gave the billionaires the ability to more completely exploit the casual racists into doing things against their own self interest.
Yup. It started under that pos Regan. Tax cuts for the wealthy and the like. It’s been a steady ride down since. If you look at the Powell memo from Supreme Court justice Lewis Powell. That was 1971. It’s been 50 years and the right has achieved its goal of taking the courts.
