For all the churches we have in this region, Christians are being suspiciously quiet amid all this. They seem to serve themselves more than the Christ I was taught about in Sunday school. Let's tax the churches and use that money to house the homeless rather than outlaw the victims of the system.

For sure there are a few outliers. My in-laws belong to a very inclusive church in rural MO and I’m proud of their commitment to community, but they’re so much the exception that it’s ludicrous. The modern American church spits in the face of Christ and his teachings just to ally itself with power.
