I have to have at least one Irish follower out there... Hey Irish people, is Gaelic something not a lot of people in Ireland know? I was watching the Irish Traitors and there was a challenge involving translating Gaelic and it really screwed them all up.

I'm in the US too. I was watching it off of Dailymotion. That's where I go for my international Traitors, uk Gladiators, and stuff like that. They're doing three a week it looks like.

Hi, hello! 1. it's called Gaeilge - Gaelic is an umbrella term and it drives the pendants among us crazy. 2. it has a long, traumatic history - for another day. It's taught in schools up through high school but badly IMO. Most of us have a little but aren't fluent.

The British killed, bribed, and bullied us into not speaking it. Irish speaking people were deemed "illiterate" seeing as they just straight took over and said you all speak English now. I think we're still trying to catch up and make it teachable. Kneecap help. "Another day" he said lol

Thanks. I really appreciate that. I figure it had to be something like that from what I've seen in movies, but this was the first time I saw regular people talking about it.

It’s called Irish. Unless you’re speaking Irish - then you call it Gaeilge.

When Conan went to Ireland he met a Gaelic teacher, and the number of living speakers was pretty low.

There were a couple of people who seemed to know what was up but it just got me wondering. I've seen Irish movies but it's never come up like that before.
