I understand, and I hold you no ill will. But I will say this: if the choice is between a Repub who wants to remove people’s civil rights, and a Dem who wants to remove people’s civil rights, my choice will be: neither. I will not vote for Gavin in the general election, even if he is the nominee.

That's not the actual choice, though. There is a Republican in office now who is brutalizing whole classes of people. Not voting--assuming we even have a legitimate electon in 2028--will only perpetuate that brutalization.

Newsom is currently brutalizing the homeless and agreeing with right wing assholes about how trans people should be treated. We have options for 2028 that aren’t, ya know, willing to throw minorities under the bus-let’s focus on them.

Totally get that. This whole current political situation sucks. And it’s hard because I deeply care about trans folks but I’m not trans so I can vote based on my empathy and my queerness but what makes sense to me isn’t necessarily what makes sense to trans folks and also trans folks are far 1/2

From a monolith. And so it can be hard to figure out how to vote in a way that best supports trans folks and ppl of color etc because opinions are all very diverse. So I can study and read and listen but I still have to try to parse it and that’s hard. I appreciate your input and view. 2/2
