Didn’t say they were. The real reason political divide in the is country is between neolibs ( be they far rightwingers or “centrist” Dems) and those who do not believe in welfare for billionaires. This divide has been thrown into stark contrast by the neolib Dems freak out over progressive Mandami.

I see most things as economics and cultural. Now, I also frame things around theories of how modern autocracies work. My favorite new book is Autocracy INC. My grandparents and dad were old-time communists. But even their beliefs can't be buttonholed. They believed in democracy.

Mandami seems great. I wonder if many moderates might vote for him because he's intelligent and charismatic. That goes a long way. Plus Cuomo sucks. People are getting we need big changes.

I even often listen to the Bulwark too. Because it amazes me they get we're fighting authoritarians. Even if I don't agree with most of their conservative positions. Anyways, I just look for facts and truth. I try to respect those who voted for Trump who aren't wealthy. They felt desperate.

I think we're getting going on fighting this. The last big marches hit the 3.5% of the country mark. The number needed to be actively be working to overthrow facist governments. To get something done. We aren't there yet but we're out of practice.

I hope you’re right, but I’m pretty sure the inaction from Dems comes from the donors. Which means the donors are okay with what is happening or think their riches will allow them to survive it. 3.5% just means we now have enough people that understand that they are experiencing a coup

to start to organize another 3-5% so we can start the non-compliance phase. But, while I was happy enough to have a big Dem tent, it is clear the neoliberal Dems are not. The way they attacked Mamdani, as just one example, demonstrates that they are more willing to fight progressives than MAGA.

This is not just ideology. It's politics and power. They don't want new power to come in. One that threatens the money of their donnors. Corruption is the same everywhere. Those are politicians not the electorate. The voters will vote for what makes sense for their and others' economic situation.

I don't think it's near inaction for them. Turns out parties out of power can't do a lot in authoritarian takeovers. If it weren't for Schumer. They'd have stopped the gov quickly. Which takes guts. Schumer has to go. Besides that it took a while but what they're doing is about it. S Korea,

Poland, the Philippines, and Romania were all done through peoples actions. Mass protests, courts, press, satire, and direct action. It's all about us. And if we win back our country. It will be up to hold the dems accountable to get things we need done.

They have all sorts of power which they are choosing not to use.

Like what? And why is it the same for all countries that end up like this? The one thing they could have done. Schumer killed. He has to go. This gets fixed when the party in power feels the heat from us consistently and in larger numbers.

So, if we are “on the front lines”, so to speak, we can expect “friendly fire” from behind, from our own supposed side? Neolib Dems are more loyal to their ideology and the billionaires it created than to the party, the people and the country.

The only known antidote to neoliberalism and fascism is progressivism. If the “centrists” keep clinging to their failed economic ideas and attacking those trying to plot a course out of it, I don’t see how we win. But the fact that they can’t even even pretend until we are out of this is telling.
