Not a fan of Siri or Alexa, but smart thermostats are great. You don’t have to connect them to anything else.

Same here. I've had remote control thermostats for over a decade, and signed up for National Grid to override them and balance the load on hot afternoons. Opt-in and a $40 incentive are fine with me.
