Is there a list of the countries designated to be countries from which you are considered white. I seem to recall that Italians were called spics. Is that white or is an other class. What about Spainiards. Original Latinos are they white. Do you proof of origin to qualify.

No it's entirely made up. The Irish also were not white at one point in history. It what was a means to separation. Anytime Blacks had an immigrant group sympathetic to them, they were promoted to white status.

I live in the South so I’m well aware of Sundown towns. As a kid I lived in an all white neighborhood that the NAACP block busted by placing 2 Black families. My lovely father decided to judge the people, not their color. He met them and pronounced they were very nice, end of subject.
