We need more rigorous education in this country about math, and statistics in particular, so that was I can talk to people about sports stats without wanting to die.

Also, math is a great rule set that trains the brain to think logically, which it's not naturally inclined to do. It's been with us for millennia, and it's still doing the job! Like, imagine if we trained logical thinking on Magic: the Gathering or something?
