Empathy for ALL those who have suffered used to be something I loved about the Democratic Party. What happened to that?

I donβt know that this was ever truly the case, but if it was, Iβd say the biggest problem became money.
I don't know this government. I don't want to know it. It goes against everything I've ever been, am or strive to be.
You believed a societal myth, as we all do. Life is deconstructing them, all the way to the grave.
What happened is that empathy was weaponized against anyone who has expressed it, extended it, embraced it.
As society collapses, humans become less empathetic. Like CPR in overcrowded New York City: "Hey asshole...get up...before you fucking DIE!" ππ€£
The analogy is that democrats are sitting on their favorite park bench. A frisbee falls near them. But they donβt make any effort to get up and throw it back. So someone has to come over and do their work for them. Why? For some its age, for the rest itβs about being paid to do it.
That's never really been the case. Obama turned his back on the tribal communities he said he had their backs. It's a great sales pitch but the systems do what they are designed to do. Look at outcomes not intent. Intent can be lied about.
That's why I call them "Neo-Liberals". The old-style Democrats are all gone.
Oh yes. LGBTQ support is an outfit Dems wear.
This may be a viewpoint that helps us: empathy in a Democrat takes energy. I noticed a good while back we were, in a sense, throttling back or dumbing life down to settling for just letting someone be "seen." I'd welcome if candidates, when they're in the heat of campaigning, say "I feel your pain.
Citizens United. Our Congress is 90% people who are just there for the $$. So the only people they talk to are the big donors constantly pressuring them for favors. They live in a bubble. (The other 10% are heroic public servants/ patriots.)
I view this as a possibility, too.
It never existed just ask Appalachians , the LGBTQ+ community and the Disabled community
Your politicians all got rich and studies have shown the richer you get, the less empathy you have Science has already shown the way
Amazing how democratic voters canβt understand this. Will reelect the rich donor candidates who have ran our party for decades, and theyβll just smile and suck it up and blame republicans for their losses.
Propaganda works
Religious brainwashing is thorough, as well.
Grift became more important than values. How many in here gave time and money to the Harris campaign? Only to see payoffs to Oprah and BeyoncΓ© and all of the consultants? Iβm no fan of Lee Zeldin, but dude was right about that $20 billion.
Where are they? It seems to me they have collapsed.
1 in 5 are narcissistic but it is geographically dependent. Places like LA and Washington higher incidence. Good news is that Republican empaths are no longer republican or are cultified easily identified. Teach uour children how to recognize these people.
Exactly
It's not just Democrats. Most of the country has lost their humanity.
