Not only do they not seem to do much different, these days "raid mechanics" are becoming the norm even in non-raid content. CC and other mechanics are shoved aside in favor of "more enemies with more health".

I've been playing FFXIV again lately and have seen some one-time gimmicks in dungeons that never return for one reason or another. The game has a lot of dungeons and raids but the mechanics primarily come down to stack, separate, or using one ability on time. Might as well play 1 raid on repeat. 🤷
