At the very least, minimum wage should be $10.92/hour to stay at the 2009 level plus inflation. If we go back to 1967 (because the 1938 act was quite insufficient) we get $13.54/hour. And that's not even accounting for how prices for necessities like housing have inflated even more.

If we tied minimum wage specifically to housing costs, BTW, the 1967 equivalent today would be $15.68/hour. That's pretty close to the CA/WA figures and seems about right to me.
