Trump is so *obviously* mentally and physically unwell, and has been for a long time. But his whole first presidency, I was thinking he wouldn't make it through 4 years. I don't believe in gloating over your enemy's troubles, so it's starting to just plain scare me how much my hopes are rising.

Trump's demise will not end the nightmare. The evil is far deeper than one man.

Oh I absolutely know that's true. That's partly why it scares me how much my heart lifts at the thought. I can't seem to tamp down that pure joy.

For sure, but the current wave of evil is driven by Trump support. Vance will never garner that support. They need a figurehead, and Trump is it. W/o Trump, Congress won’t be afraid their voters will be turned against them. W/o Trump, the current wave is vulnerable & beatable.

Yes! I agree! It's hard to imagine that Vance could keep the cult going. Of course, I will never ever understand how Trump kept it going, so I'm afraid to trust my gut on that.

I don’t understand on a personal level, but over time I’ve come to see it on an analytical level. But no one likes Vance. He can’t get that kind of support. Like DeSantis, Vance is awkward & stodgy & weird. 😉 The power behind them is huge. But it needs a charismatic leader.
