Stansted. But why is the worst departure lounge actually not in an airport, but is in fact St Pancras Eurostar.

Luton or LAX
In the new Penn station, they didn’t want homeless people to hang around so there’s no seating* *there is a place to sit for ticketed passengers, but you can’t see the departure board or hear the announcements clearly so almost everyone just sits on the floor by the stairs to the platforms
Sounds like London Euston station
Fully agree, but Stansted used to be the nicest London airport (until around 15 years ago). Just one big open waiting area with lots of seating.
The Gare du Nord Eurostar is pretty bad too (the space is marginally better, but it always seems to be in complete chaos)
I always sit up on that mezzanine bit and wait for everyone to rush out before I go to the platform
Especially now Luton has upped its game.
Really? That's good news. Luton has been my default worst airport ever for years but maybe I need to unswear never going back there again.
There’s a whole new station link!
Oh wow! That's a big start!
Still horrid when busy. Insufficient seating, restaurants & toilets. Security, is much improved.
Oh shit. I felt this one in my bones.
It's tight but what do you expect? St Pancras is built within a station. It's a secure space within a very public and constrained place. I travel frequently to see my dad in France and just hunker down in the corner with my rucksack.
Orlando
You mean don't enjoy a train-load of people milling to board a train while surrounding the next train load of people sitting awkwardly?
Completely agree about Stansted. Avoid at all costs! Also true that there is nowhere near enough room at St P.
Designed for a world without Brexit and where peace in Northern Ireland meant there was a realistic prospect of the UK joining the Schengen Zone? (Way to feel depressed, my apologies!)
