I even liked Ash v The Evil Dead ... it was ok, pretty good compared to other shows I think for The Evil Dead, they got private backers (- dentists!) who forked out about $60,000. For the remake, they got Dino De Laurentiis on board. And when Sam Raimi pitched it, Dino said 'Ok' and they got $3M

I like Ash V the Evil Dead too. My husband was only mildly amused. It's amazing how people can bring their money to the production of a film and change the outcome. They were all pretty low budget though LOL

When Sam Raimi screened The Evil Dead for his dentist backers, he was scared that they would think it too gross and weird Their whole concern was that it needed more blood! That's how I remember Sam telling it, anyway

Didn't you just love those visual effects? I love seeing the blood spurting out like someone with a thumb over a hose lol

Europe has the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel, the works of Shakespeare, Bernini, Picasso, Beethoven ... America has The Evil Dead Pretty fair comparison

Lmao 🤣 Well, to be a bit more fair, the US is a fraction of the age of the countries in Europe. After all, Italy is over 1,800 years old. The US? The US does have Wood, Harper, Warhol, Seurat, Pollock, Vermeer, O'Keefe, Rockwell, Segal, Sargent, Whistler, Cassatt, and more. Art has no border.

To be fair, most of those are pretty crap I really like Grant Wood, American Gothic (1930)

That's the great thing about art ... it's purely subjective. I don't consider brick walls art in the classic sense, even if I would rather look at a brick wall than some people's gardens lol
