I think media(worst of all social media) is a huge problem. But it's a small fraction of the problem. All that media & social media got 15% of black people to vote GOP. What is the excuse of every other group for their far higher GOP voting?

A lot of people are just ignorant, because they only hear a few sanitized headlines from MSM. My Dominicano friend, a jeweler and property owner who speaks little English after 30 years in Buffalo, was surprised that I didn't vote for Trump. He thinks "they're just detaining the bad people."

I was born & raised in Dominica, about a thousand miles Southeast of the Dominican Republic. In my experience, folks from the Dominican Republic are very often white supremacists & anti-black racists. I hope that friend of yours gets everything they are wishing on 'the bad people'.

He dropped out of school at 11 to sell eggs door to door, built it into a trucking company in Puerto Plata before becoming a Buffalo landlord and patriarch. Ignorant about current events and higher education, but not dumb, and not lazy about business. Just an example of the mindset we deal with.

My experience is that the lighter-skinned Dominicans are the worst for sure, very similar to the USA. The ones my(George Floyd's) color do worse in the US, but are on average more civilized. It's the same with Cubans and other Latinos. slate.com/news-and-pol...

Official racism in Dominican Republic, particularly against Haitian (dark skinned) immigrants, is well documented. Children born to Haitian parents in DR are not citizens of any country, for example.

Yes. Unlike people from my native island of Dominica, those from the Dominican Republic are mostly Nazi a$$holes. That's why they vote GOP so much more than we do. It's not victimizing by evil media. They were mostly a$$holes in the DR
