Are there bears in the region that feed on the salmon?
They are normally around later in the evening but I saw no bear poo at either creek I went too. The huckleberries are big and plentiful this year also so I think the bears haven’t come down. The salmon are just coming in though so I assume the smell will bring bears.
I haven't heard of huckleberries, I'll have to try them sometime. One surprising thing about some bears is in years of plenty salmon they just eat the fatty skin and throw away the rest.
Sort of a mountain blueberry, but pops in your mouth more like a small grape.
ok i will say it
Looks delicious
Our mountains around here are loaded with berries too this year. Easiest picking in years.
Apples, peaches, pears, nut trees and berries all seem to be bumper crops this year. I hope it means a snowy hard winter. This is a ski town.
I love the ski hills in southern b.c. My pear tree is having an all time year.
They made a whole movie about Kokanee Bear
The brewery (assuming you meant beer) is about 100km away.
I am going to have to look into this lol
