(I've found "short a couple hours of sleep" gets me a hangover like "had eight beers" did in my early 20s. And, bonus, the late-night anxiety about the state of the world makes it harder and harder to sleep a decent amount! Yippee.)
I finally gave into sleeping pills. Now I really can't sleep without them. Doctor said three nights of rough sleep would get me past it but I'm too old to voluntarily give in to three nights of rough sleep. My body gives me enough of those.
