tbf WW1 ended with a ceasefire then months of negotiations - the war didnt officially end until 1919 WW2 ended with Soviet Union and western ally troops meeting up in Berlin and Hitler dead in his bunker - wouldn't even have mattered if they hadn't surrendered they were beaten
