🥲🥲🥲 In our last council meeting, they discussed and ultimately passed a resolution opposing the RIPTA cuts and one of our councilors was like - this won’t affect the bus to the beach because that’s privately funded, right? I was just floored that this seemed to be the first she was hearing of it.

Councilor Khamsyvoravong was like …no, it’s all of them because it’s not just the funding - it’s the vehicles and the staff, etc etc - this exists in a web of complex factors that exists to provide service to our community. Snip one thread and the others are affected.

Discouraging to have reps who obviously don’t rely on or pay a lot of attention to public transit - but also clearly some officials do care and lobby for us on this which we love to see.
