Also i didn't even realize it was del monte until you pointed it out. I just assumed it was chiquita
i can understand why /s
It was slightly terrifying watching it move the first time. What was wrong with bananas hanging off racks that didn't move? 💀
Taking fruit flies for a walk? 😆
chimpanzee decoy
this baffles me more than the random posts with bananas hanging on them in sections far away from the produce. how will the people who want bananas find this when its so busy annoying the people who dont?
Its an attempt to force integrate technology in a place where it has no value added. Corporations cannot drive innovation, for they do not see people. Innovation solves a problem, it doesn't just increase profit.
gotta love the persistence of "solutions" looking for problems to "fix"
Well the problem they want to fix was pretty simple: paying anyone. Not sure i want to know what they will try after all this AI crap fails.
How far will the Del Monte goons go to make sure the bananas come home with you? Next time it's a crane game at the checkout that just puts them directly in your bags
waiting for the banana bot to be hiding out back by the grocery loading docks, a trench coat poorly draped over it as it beeps ominously at passers-by with a gravelly tone that seems to ask "hey you, yeah, you wanna hit o' nana? i got some here for ya, real ripe, real cheap"
Me, a houseplant nerd: psssst…These ones are even variegated, the peel AND the fruit. Real sweet. It will cost you though! …Musa Nono? Oh musa, yeah yeah! (I’m sorry I’m very tired.)
but it made me chuckle so i call that a win. and evoked thoughts of jar jar binks, but i'm not sure how i would qualify that.
