Trumps cuts have including myself affected our Medicaid in the Austin that I could have never imagined. All I can say is that it’s gonna be a long bumpy and cold ride from here on out under this regime

I am a Certified Volunteer Advocate for the NJ Long Term Care Ombudsman’s Office. It’s my job to spend 4 hours every week in my assigned nursing home. I’ve felt incredibly lucky to be placed with a really great facility. The staff has all been there since before COVID, the residents are well cared
for and the residents love their care givers. Any problem I uncover is fixed immediately, the staff is amazing. So of fucking course they sold the facility just days after that bill passed. To a company that has a ton of complaints against it & they have to replace the existing (wonderful) staff
with an agency - an agency that will send new folks every day. The agency staff will never have the time & opportunity to know the residents. Important things will get missed. People are going to die. I’m terrified and losing sleep over it. And it’s barely just begun.
It is HORRIFIC that due to this evil, shitty bill passing, I have a reason now to be LESS sad that the mother of my oldest friend passed away this January. It was only thanks to Medicaid she could stay in the decent assisted living facility at the end. Her son's house had no 1st floor bathroom.
...so she couldn't stay with him.
Husband and I both see neurologists (different reasons & doctors), both of us have been told that our regular 3 month follow up appts need to be extended now to every 6 months. The reasons — cuts to Medicaid and immigration issues are impacting staffing and they need to make these changes now. 💔❤️🩹⚕️
Guess what? The quality of our healthcare has been cut in half.
Fuckers
😢
Omg, I wondered why my dr moved my neuro appointments from every month to every 3 months. It’s because I moved from regular insurance to Medicare? So now, it will be every 6 months? JFC
It’s possible, can’t say for certain but I would definitely speak to their office and ask. Also not a bad idea with everything going on - schedule as many of your follow up appts as they will allow you too, get them scheduled now if you can. Things are going to get tight.
I hate hearing this. I’m so sorry.
🥺💔
Probably don’t want to be left with unpaid bills
