In general, media & pundits assume crime helps Republicans. And it often* does! But despite months of friendly "Trump is tough on crime" coverage in 2020, it didn't much help him. After 2022, lots of journos retconned 2020 results to fit narrative * largely because of the way the media covers crime

No evidence. But I do feel it helped Rs, especially downballot. Despite winning at the top level, Dems suffered some big time disappointments in 2020c especially at the state level

The criminal behavior in 2020, as relates to George Floyd and the subsequent protests, was largely on the part of the cops, and enjoyed enthusiastic, bipartisan support. Why would Republicans specifically have benefited from the crime of that summer?

anyway if you're interpreting this thread as "Democrats did nothing wrong" or "Republicans did nothing right" or "crime never helps Republicans" rather than "Journalists should back up their assertions" you a fool or have an agenda other than truth.
