Not silly questions at all. But this is a PS5 controller only, just styled to look like an original controller to celebrate the 30th anniversary. It won’t work with original PlayStations unfortunately.

I’m pretty sure you can get third party Bluetooth adapters that will allow wireless controllers to work on an OG PlayStation but I can’t speak for how well they work as I’ve never tried one myself

when does the controller drift arrive?

I hateee drift. Currently have it on my Xbox controller, about 2 years old. Considering buying a Hall effect type of controller, but I read that the deadzone is smaller 🤔

Huh? I had mine for years and haven't had to deal with drift yet. The switch on the other hand

I've bought like 4 and 6 dualshock 4s they all get drift but - I mean - I've put 4800 hours into just overwatch

I have these thumb covers that block dust getting into the controller. Maybe try something along those lines, especially if you're playing games with a bare controller.

I had no idea this was a problem. My box controller from 2019 still works great. Battery life leaves a bit to be desired at this point though.

Yeah they're all pretty prone to it, any potentiometer based sticks/controllers are, but it comes down to individual luck in some cases and also a lot of people won't notice depending on how it manifests. I'm hoping they move away from these cheap parts next gen... but unlikely I think haha!

Why sell you 1 controller when they can sell you one every 6 months?

Yup that's the game plan. Luckily you can escape it on PC with a ton of great options so i'm happy that companies are waking up and dumping exclusivity, and i don't have to get forced into those controllers anymore for the few games I do use one for lol

I moved away from PS5 controllers because of this. Managed to get controllers to last a year, then stick drift. Found a company that produces one that uses hall sensors instead, so I should never have to experience it again!

I took one apart once to replace a stick, it’s not too difficult if you follow iFixit or similar instructions closely, just a bit fiddly

Anything will be easier than the switch joycons

Same I’m addicted to the edge. The older one just feels too small now. Also can switch out the sticks on the edge to solve drift. Still I’d frame this one in a shadow box on my desk.
