or maybe because every month when they see the nutritionist and 4 times a month when they see their provider they are told to maintain a low phos diet and take their binders because a low phos is important. It must have been jarring to hear that "actually we don't know if it is important." #NephJC

Yeah Forever old nephrologist KoLs have been saying that trials like this are unethical This clearly shows that effect size is not huge But their pronouncements made enrolment for the trial impossible #NephJC

Effect size of 16% is small. One would need 1000s of patients to show a difference with this effect size. Still a valuable trial when binders are paid by the dialysis units. @mikejohansenmd.medsky.social #nephjc

That was for this trial But the way nephron KoLs have refused to do this trial - one would think effect size is 50% I was told this March at the ADC that this trial is unethical and cannot be done by Glenn Chertow and the audience (We have enrolled > 3000 in PHOSPhATE) #NephJC
