2/ So I don't think I understood the deepest, darkest evils of modern racism. One that's not insidious, but rawly overt & unyielding ignorant. One that refuses to understand the nature of humanity. One that rages with hate so ingrained that it specifically seeks out the power to maliciously harm.
3/ Naive? Sure. White? Yup. Pollyanna? Yeah. I'm hopeful. Does that make me gullible? Seems so. It makes it shocking to me that our entire federal government is so internally misaligned with my values. That a fascist group of Nazis is fighting to reverse our imperfect but precious progress.
4/ It's a gut punch how quickly the very worst of us came to rule the rest of us. The beasts of White Supremacy have been plotting long & hard for decades to bring their souless anger, based not just in racism but psychotic mental illness, to power. That sickness never left Louisiana & Mississippi.
