Please be careful with First Nations relations Mr. Carney. It’s hugely important and that consideration is much less than they deserve.

I think that Carney is trying to approach this issue in a sensitive manner. Unless we approve big infrastructure projects, we are going to remain economically tethered to the USA, a country that is currently bent on destroying all of us (First Nations included). Canada must try to build, or bust.
He's not trying to approach it in a "sensitive manner". He's made it clear that he doesn't plan to consult Indigenous ppl here.
So would you rather us be divided and paralyzed? Would you like to see our country weakened economically such that we must continue to submit to the USA’s demands, or worse, be annexed? Because that is the other option.
I would think that meaningful consultation w Indigenous ppl would make us less divided. There's no point in protecting Canada if we're going to throw marginalized & vulnerable ppl under the bus to do it.
Carney has supported LGBT community, is trying his best to encourage dialogue with FN groups, etc. Is there a better alternative that you see? Is Pierre Polievre going to do any of that? That guy is waiting in the wings for the centre/left to divide itself and crumble, which you are promoting.
He passed a bill through that reduces Indigenous consultation on projects. That's not encouraging true dialogue. Further, a high % of LGBTQ2S+ ppl live in poverty or can't afford secure housing or food. He's not supporting them by not dealing w housing costs or offering a UBI.
Ok let’s see if PP will give you any of those things, once you have achieved your preferred goal of leaving us divided and leaderless. He’s waiting.
We're not talking about Poillievre. We're talking about Carney. Regardless of how terrible Pollievre would have been, he's not the PM. Carney is, & he's the one who's doing these things right now. The Conservatives actually supported these bills..
As a non–First Nations Canadian, I’m saddened that our Prime Minister overlooked the respect owed to First Nations in seeking unity. I had hoped we’d truly bridge our nation—with First Nations at its heart. Canada must always be about its peoples first, before any project.
