What changed was a cabal of powerful, moneyed interests implemented a program to consolidate political control by using wedge issues to divide us, social media to influence us, and making sure government doesn’t serve the people so we’ll stop caring about losing it. It’s been engineered.

There was no social media Diane then .. it was what people did, think and act on. Not social media .. it was the US citizens and government that made choices (or did not) .. anyway: remember this Diane: it is people who do stuff and make choices. Not social media 🤔

The GOP ensured government would not work for the people’s benefit. When the economy crashed in ‘08-09, people struggled. Vulnerable people are vulnerable to influence. Wedge issues divided us. And later, social media was used to further influence and divide us. COVID made everything even worse.

So it is not external factors (covid or social media) that does it … it is people that make mistakes. The real problem is nobody says: I made a mistake, I am sorry and I am accountable for the mistakes I made … 🤔

Social media bots and algorithms and uncertainty/anxiety around COVID were used to further divide Americans and foment infighting. Classic example of divide and conquer.

Dear Diane, democrats made a huge mistake in 08 (I was there on Times Square in November when Obama won!) … Obama focussed in first 100 days on abroad, forgot Pennsylvania and Tennessee, he should have visited them first in stead of Canada and the UK .. I am Dutch so pro democrats btw.. 🤔
